András Cserna-Szabó - Puszibolt (Kiss Shop), 2013

I chose a book from a Hungarian contemporary writer, András Cserna-Szabó and I illustrated it. I created a new book cover and a book case for this book.
The case and the cover are closely linked, these together symbolize the exterior and interior. When the book is removed from the case, the colour blots are changing in the balloon which is hold by a little girl. This book is about happiness and searching for it. Maybe children are the closest to this feeling cause they do not have a too complicated life. The colour blots refer to the little things that appear sometimes in our life. These colorful "whiffs" irradiate a minute or a day or a lifetime. The balloon is a memento mori of this feeling or preferably an inner world, the "Kiss Shop" or the Gate of Happiness which are in everyone.
